The eye is the jewel of the body
Henry David Thoreau
Unlike other lasers which rely on heat to treat targeted areas, the PicoSure® laser converts energy into gentle pressure waves so it is safe for all skin types and can be used to treat the delicate skin around the eyes.
Before your laser treatment begins, topical anesthetics will be applied to the eyes and eyelids and protective shields will be placed directly on the surface of the eyes. You will still see flashes of light as the laser fires, but your eyes remain protected throughout the entire session. You can resume normal activities immediately after your PicoSure® treatment.
Botox® is a neurotoxin commonly used to temporarily reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Injections are generally repeated every 3 months.
We take photographs then you may choose to have topical anesthetic cream or cold packs applied to the treatment area before your injections, though most patients find numbing is unnecessary. Your face is cleansed and Dr. Shin performs the Botox® injections.
Dermal fillers such as Juvéderm® can be used to effectively treat wrinkles and under-eye “bags” or a hollowed-out appearance, offering a more youthful and less tired-looking appearance. The injections immediately add volume and smooth the overall complexion of the skin, and while the effects are temporary and retreatment is often necessary, the hyaluronic acid helps stimulate collagen and elastin production.
Topical numbing cream will be applied to the area prior to the injections, and Dr. Shin will perform the injections using a combination of needles and cannulas to provide a more comfortable experience and an enhanced outcome. You may notice minor bruising or swelling afterward, but avoiding alcohol and blood-thinners such as NSAIDS prior to and immediately after your appointment can lessen the risk.
Sylfirm X Ultimate Edition, the first and only FDA-approved dual-wave (with both continuous wave and pulsed wave) radiofrequency microneedling device can quickly and noticeably treat eyelids and periocular skin with technology safe for all skin types and without downtime.
The targeted area will be numbed with an anesthetic cream before treatment. Once it has taken effect and you are positioned comfortably on the treatment bed, the handpiece is placed into position and the microneedles penetrate the skin to the desired depth, delivering RF energy to the tissue. Each session takes approximately 20-30 minutes and while improvement in skin texture and tone can be seen immediately, two to three treatments scheduled four to six weeks apart yield more appreciable improvement, especially as collagen regeneration increases over the following months.
Following each treatment, Exosome Regenerative Complex is applied to the area(s). This cool, soothing application of 2.5 billion stem-cell-derived lyophilized (freeze-dried) exosomes, contains potent growth factors, peptides, coenzymes, minerals, amino acids, and vitamins to produce a 300% increase in elastin and a 180% increase in fibroblasts. This biotech breakthrough enhances the skin rejuvenation of Sylfirm X.
The TempSure® Envi platform delivers radiofrequency energy to the skin, evenly and effectively heating the tissue, and is gentle enough to treat the delicate skin around the eyes. This technology is pain-free, safe for all skin types, and offers instant results without needles or surgery.
First, an adhesive grounding pad is placed on your back, then, once you are comfortable on the treatment table, a layer of warm ultrasound gel will be applied around the eyes. The handpiece glides over your skin, gently heating the tissue to stimulate collagen fiber growth. The treatment feels similar to a hot stone massage, and while multiple treatment sessions are necessary to reach the desired outcome, the collagen remodeling continues long after the treatments are finished.
